If you live in St. Petersburg, FL, and you don’t know who Forbes Riley is yet, you should. She has been visiting you inside your homes for years—straight through your television set! Have you ever heard of Jack LaLanne’s Power Juicer or the Montel Williams HealthMaster? What about the SpinGym? No? Then maybe the TV shows 24,Strong Medicine or perhaps ESPN’s X-Games. Oh, and she also happens to live right in your own neighborhood.
That’s Forbes Riley, Broadway, television and film star and 20-year veteran of branded television campaigns, grossing sales totals of more than $1 billion.
At the core of her success, Riley says, “I’m a communicator. I know how to reach people and engage them. It doesn’t matter what media I use—TV, film, stage, radio—it’s about connecting with people.”
Riley isn’t only interested in being in front of the camera, though. The newest development in the Burg’s burgeoning TV/film industry is Forbes Riley Studios. This is a full-service television, media and production hub, complete with a sound stage, 450 sq. ft. green screen and conference/event space available for rent.
Forbes Riley Studios is a unique interactive center for television, film and media production also offering state-of-the-art teleconferencing capabilities with an emphasis on high security and privacy for visitors.
Clients have traveled from around the world and locally to experience the programming offered at the studio. In the recent past, Riley facilitated “Forbes Factor” at the studio, a life and business coaching event for 75 successful women who sought Riley’s leadership to help them amplify their success with their professional and personal goals.
Riley also is an inductee of the National Fitness Hall of Fame, and recently facilitated the Forbes Riley 10-week SpinGym SlimDown Challenge. This was a fitness, diet and personal empowerment pilot program where nearly 30 participants lost about 700 lbs, collectively.
What’s more incredible is that after interviewing each of the participants, they all claim that this challenge changed their lives as seen in this testimonial provided as a gift to Forbes Riley following the Challenge by participant Amy Headley. They say that they have learned to release much of the negative thinking that lead to their weight gain along with affecting other areas of their lives such as relationships and career. They also say they have discovered the personal power needed to live happier more fulfilled lives.
One Challenge participant, Sashanna Roman, having completed the 10-week program, described her experience with Riley and the Challenge: “I think of Forbes Riley as ‘The Truth.’ What I mean is that she has shown me that the truth about gaining weight and holding onto weight has very little to do with food and a lot to do with how we let our stories, and how we think and feel about our stories, drive our behaviors. It’s more than just decreasing numbers on a scale—it’s a way of living.”
The tool that Challenge participants are using to help them get fit is the product Riley developed, the SpinGym. Using the SpinGym along with incorporating a holistic program addressing personal empowerment, healthy choices and exercise, each participant says that they have realized success and have either reached many of their weight loss goals or are well on their way towards doing so.
Riley is known as a national fitness expert, but Riley says she knows that there is much more to fitness than diet and exercise. Riley’s focus is on providing holistic healthy lifestyle solutions that people can sustain. “When people talk to me about health, I feel it is so important that it’s not just about exercise and diet, but it’s about how their whole life fits together.” Riley says, “If you don’t get it off your chest, you won’t get it off your body.” And, if you ask Riley’s Challenge participants, that is exactly what Riley’s pilot program achieved.
Yes, Riley is a fitness master, but she also is a savvy entrepreneur. As a part of Forbes Riley Studios comprehensive service list, Riley will share her expertise as a billion dollar host and successful entrepreneur. She offers life coaching sessions along with business coaching to entrepreneurs and hopeful inventors as they work their way through the marketing and infomercial universe required to get products and businesses noticed in today’s multi-media platforms.
Riley is a recent transplant from California, originally from New York, and she chose to call St. Petersburg home a few years ago, moving her family, husband Tom Riley and nine-year-old twins Ryker and Makenna to St. Pete while maintaining another home in California.
She made the decision to move here after making multiple trips per month to and from Los Angeles and St. Pete to film at the HSN studios. Riley was not at all pleased with missing that much time away from her family.
When asked why she chose St. Petersburg over other cities in Pinellas County close to HSN, Riley said laughing, “Is there another city in Pinellas County?” She continued, “Where else can I live within walking distance of two world-class museums, and within a short car ride I can see both the sunrise and the sunset on the horizon of a local beach?”
